Brooks is an asshole on par with Ashley “Ash” Williams from the Evil Dead movies. I was caught off guard with how much I liked it.īack when I first watched I called the character of Brooks the angry voice of a new generation. Final Thoughts: This was a fun and surprising movie. There are some atmospheric moments and some monsters lurking in the woods, but you’re in no danger of tinkling your pants in front of your girlfriend. Scares: As an entry into the horror-comedy genre, there really aren’t any scares here. However, I do award the film a half-skull just because I find co-star Ashley Bryant really attractive. Sex: The biggest, and really only, disappoint for me was the total lack of naked ladies. Definitely needed more blood to satisfy me. In non-fatal violence, Jack does like to punch a couple of suckas in the face. KillSheet Violence: The film kills around 12 or so people, which is good, but some of them occur off-screen and most aren’t too bloody. He hits people with pipes, chairs, and in the best kill, a fire extinguisher. Killer Scene: When it’s down to Jack to fight his way through the school to rescue the trapped students, he takes it upon himself to bash some heads in. In the course of fixing a professor’s plumbing, he becomes embroiled in a battle against a demon capable of possessing others where he finds his true calling – kicking monster ass.
